Guardian Homecare UK is a franchise organisation, which provides ongoing support to each franchised branch. The company was established in 2000 by the same team that successfully created and managed the Helping Hand Homecare Group.
Based on the standards, aims and objectives and business systems that enabled the core branch to grow to a capacity of 6000 hours per week provision and working with 6 London local authorities, Helping Hands UK franchised over 50 Homecare Branches in the UK during the 90s. Their branches nationwide were accredited to provide services to over 70 local authorities. Helping Hands was acquired by BUPA in 1997 and was later acquired by the Nestor Healthcare Group.
Anne Keene and Janet Perry, the originators of Helping Hands, decided in 2000 to create a homecare package, which would meet the proposed National Care Standards, and at the same time give greater emphasis to the development of the role of the care/support worker.
At a time when there is a nationally recognised shortage of care workers, Guardian Homecare UK has taken the decision to link new care businesses with colleges and training bodies to attract caring individuals to seek employment as nationally qualified care workers. Guardian Homecare UK is a satellite-training centre for BILD (British Institute for Learning Disabilities) and all support workers registered with Guardian Homecare nationally are assisted on the LDAF (Learning Disability Award Framework) training pathway.
Guardian Homecare branches and their management team have extensive
experience in working to provide domiciliary care to social services departments, to private purchasers of care, and relief staff into residential and nursing homes. This experience is evident and the support is ongoing, ensuring that each branch receives continuous support with the development of its business and the training of all employees whilst their audit team closely monitors the adherence to national and company standards and the maintaining of rigorous quality assurance policies and procedures.
Guardian Homecare offers a comprehensive and dedicated personal care and home care service. It provides support workers, care assistants, companions and domestic staff to various client groups, including:
- Elderly people.
- Disabled people.
- People with learning disabilities.
- The service enables clients to live as comfortably and securely as possible in their own homes, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition our services can also be provided to Residential & Nursing homes and with the provision of auxiliary staff to NHS hospitals and private clinics.
